Aged Care Accreditation Success

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission came for an unannounced visit on 17 – 19 July 2023. With a focus on meeting the requirements for compliance we were thrilled that the final report demonstrated that we had successfully attained a three year accreditation through to November 2026.

With another unannounced visit in January 2024, we were further scrutinised for our clinical care and professionalism under Standard 3 and Standard 7. Another great result for our aged care teams as they demonstrated compliance with all of the 42 Accreditation requirements.

There is a flurry of activity as we now look to self-assess our services against the new proposed aged care Standards as part of the aged care sector reforms. The new Standards come into effect in 2025 and our management teams are getting ready. More information on the Strengthen Aged Care Quality Standards can be found on the Commissions website.

With greater focus on choice, dignity and quality of life, our teams are already underway with our action plan to support the progress of the services we provide. Our approach is to have a self-assessment, continuous improvement cycle to ensuring succeed in delivering success.

“Building a culture in the team that continually assessing the progress of our operations and seeks to set a higher bar will ensure that we remain relevant to our residents and strive to consistently meet our accreditation requirements” NECH CEO Cara Miller states.

The challenge that lies ahead is the delicate balance of bringing the right teams to the table and funding to invest in our facility for the future. We encourage those interested in our progress to sign up to our news and social media.
