Aged Care Employee Day 2025

North Eastern Community Hospital Celebrates Aged Care Employees

7 August 2025 – Campbelltown, SA

In a heartfelt show of appreciation for the people who care for our older community members every day, North Eastern Community Hospital proudly celebrated Aged Care Employee Day 2025 with a relaxed and joyful gathering for staff.

Held annually on 7th August, Aged Care Employee Day provides an important opportunity to recognise the dedication, compassion, and essential roles of those working across the aged care sector. This year, NECH marked the occasion with a pizza truck celebration, bringing staff together to share food, conversation, and a well-deserved moment of connection.

The day was a chance to say a sincere thank you to the many individuals who have chosed a career that contributes to the care and wellbeing of residents at North Eastern Community Nursing Home. From nurses and personal care workers to allied health professionals, lifestyle coordinators, cleaners, cooks, drivers, administration staff, volunteers, and maintenance crews, each role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality aged care, one role cannot be brilliant without the other roles that support around them.

The national #ThanksForCaring campaign once again set the tone for the day, encouraging communities across Australia to acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of the aged care workforce. With more than 370,000 people working in aged care nationwide, the day shines a spotlight on a sector built on empathy, professionalism, and commitment.

“We are forever thankful for the outstanding team we have,” said NECH Care & Quality Manager Sarah Dobrota. “Every person here contributes to creating a safe, respectful, and caring environment for our residents. Aged Care Employee Day is about recognising that dedication and coming together to celebrate the people behind the care.”

As staff gathered to enjoy pizza, refreshments, and each other’s company, the day provided a meaningful pause to reflect on the difference they make—often quietly, always consistently—in the lives of older Australians. The day was celebrated by our residents who also shone the bright light of appreciation on the teams that support around them.

Aged Care Employee Day remains a powerful reminder that quality aged care is built on people. At NECH, we are proud to stand alongside our teams, today and every day, and to say thank you for choosing a career in aged care and taking the caring nature to benefit others.
