Your home. Your lifestyle.

At North Eastern Community Aged Care, we believe it is important to love your life – to stay involved with current interests and develop new ones. We are constantly looking for new ways to engage and support our residents.

Our dedicated Lifestyle team pride themselves on the extensive choice of activities available, in and around the home or within the broader community. They are passionate about supporting the unique interests of our many residents, and always on hand to join in the fun.

On offer are different daily activities, weekly programs plus major celebrations each month. Such activities may include crafts, art classes, barbeques, exercise groups, music workshops, guest speakers and entertainment, community outings, special interest groups and more!

Our Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator provides an individual therapy program designed personally for each resident. We spend time getting to know each resident to create a Lifestyle Profile that is based on a detailed history of past and current interests, special needs or preferences.

Our Lifestyle team then tailor our program to ensure each resident receives the right support to meet their individual needs, with the program regularly reviewed and updated.

Family and friends are encouraged to participate as much as possible in lifestyle activities. We are privileged to have an active group of Volunteers who support our lifestyle activities and outings however it is always important for residents to remain actively involved with family friends. Residents who are interested and capable are actively encouraged to maintain social connections outside the home, and to go out whenever possible.

Freedom to choose

Our commitment to a vibrant lifestyle program is supported by our dedicated Lifestyle Coordinator, Lifestyle team members, and the wider workforce, who work collaboratively to create meaningful and engaging experiences for our residents every day.

Sympathetic cultural needs

We support, value and assist our team to meet the needs of residents from culturally, spiritually and linguistically diverse backgrounds. We delight in our own melting pot of cultural backgrounds – and enjoy hearing the many languages spoken by residents and staff alike.

Our admission process is designed to ensure we gather sufficient insight and information to meet individual interests, customs and beliefs. This includes translation and interpreting, finance and account support, catering and religious observances.

Pet Therapy

A favourite activity for many residents in our Memory Support Unit is Pet Therapy. Our facility has always welcomed visits from beloved family pets, but we understand that not every resident is fortunate enough to have a furry friend.

Thanks to our regular Pet Therapy program, interested residents get the chance to cuddle a kitten, pat a dog or even snuggle with a bunny rabbit!

While there is much research about the positive emotional benefits of Pet Therapy (to reduce anxiety, alleviate depression and enhance mood), we only need to see the smiles on our residents faces.
