Announcing our new CEO
The NECH Board is happy to announce that Cara Miller has been formally appointed as Chief Executive Officer to steer our hospital and aged care facility, after acting in this role since December 2022.
Cara has been a long-term advocate for community based medical services. Having grown up on the land and experienced the rural hospital system first hand from a young age, she formed a passion for patient care from a very early age. She carved her career in health by studying medical radiation practice at the University of South Australia. In 2007, she became Australia’s first female, non-Radiologist to own a radiology practice, Sound Radiology. Since that time, she has continued to build an industry reputation for innovation, leadership and the delivering of collaborative healthcare models. Her keen interest in governance, financial modelling and strategic vision for health services has led her to be involved in many Boards, including our very own where she held roles as Deputy Chair and Chair of Finance Committee. She continues to serve on the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) for the Medical Radiation Practice Board (MRPB) as National Chairperson.
Cara has been a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year and has been awarded the ‘Employer of the Year’ by the peak body of Australian Sonographers Association. With her career interests aside, her other great passions are as a mum to twin boys and a gorgeous, strong willed daughter where she makes time to enjoy travelling and exploring our beautiful state.
Since Acting CEO, she has demonstrated that she not only has the skill and passion to drive our organization, but she will bring innovation to supporting the next chapter for NECH.
We look forward to Cara officially joining our NECH community as Chief Executive Officer and taking on this exciting and challenging leadership role.
