Celebrating the volunteers for NECH
National Volunteers week runs from 20 – 26 May in 2024. Our volunteers at the hospital and aged care provide essential support for our teams, our patients and our residents.
We have been privileged to have many of our volunteers work with us for decades in their career and then upon retirement choose to remain closely connected as a volunteer.
This years theme was ‘Something for Everyone’ highlighting that everyone brings something to volunteering and that the charity time provided to NECH is invaluable. Whilst we acknowledge the benefits of our wonderful volunteers, it is also a connection for community and that many of our volunteers continue to note that volunteering gives them a sense of purpose, pride and continuing to give to our local community.
Our team of volunteers also span decades of service and on Thursday 23 May 2024, we celebrated our volunteers with a wonderful lunch at Café Settebello. With four of our volunteers recognised for reaching five years of service to NECH and all of our volunteers receiving a certificate of appreciation.
From assisting the hospital in many ways, from printing, forms and collating essential records for our departments, through to companionship in our aged care and gardening teams, we are so fortunate to have a village in our community to keep our services flourishing.
For anyone interested in our opportunities for volunteering, please reach out to [email protected] or phone for further information.
