At NECH, we take great pleasure in providing all our overnight patients with a private room plus private ensuite facilities. This ensures you can receive visitors in maximum comfort and privacy. 

We also understand that it is the little things that can make your overnight stay in hospital more pleasant so we also offer a range of other amenities free of charge:

  • Music and wall mounted television set
  • Daily newspaper delivered to your room
  • Chef inspired meals in our onsite kitchen
  • Vending machines located around the facility

Patient satisfaction

North Eastern Community Hospital is focused on listening and responding to the needs of our patients. Your feedback allows us to continually evaluate and improve on all aspects of our performance.

We encourage feedback from our patients via email [email protected] or our patient feedback form or surveys. It is advisable that you express your concerns before you leave the hospital so we can fix any problems for you. Please speak to the nurse in charge of your ward initially, however if you remain concerned please ask to speak to the Director of Clinical Services.

Alternatively the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights suggests a number of ways in which you can express your concerns.

Day surgery

Utilising the latest in medical and surgical technology, our Day Surgery Unit provides quality pre and post operative care for patients having a wide range of surgical procedures that require only a short stay.

Located on Level 1, our Day Surgery Unit delivers expert care for adults and children for a number of procedures, such as:

Patients are cared by dedicated and experienced staff in the comfort of a private room or private bay. Our expert team make sure your have any detailed instructions and follow up appointments at the time of your discharge (as directed by your specialist).

Other services

You can take advantage of WiFi (available for patients only) throughout the hospital.

A temporary guest account allowing internet access, can be made available upon request during your stay. While we make a best effort to filter this link for malicious traffic and inappropriate websites, no responsibility shall be borne by the hospital for any potential infection or exposure to your device while on our Guest network.

While there is greater security than on many public WiFi networks, we still recommend not to conduct confidential banking or financial transactions while connected to our Guest network. We also recommend you use up-to-date security software to protect yourself from internet based threats.

Please note that commonly used applications should work as expected but due to policy restrictions some applications may not work on our network.

Please leave all valuables at home. You should only bring the credit card (or cash) needed required to settle your outstanding account. You may want a small amount of cash to cover incidentals such as snacks or coffee from our vending machines.

We are unable to accept responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal property kept by patients, and we do not provide a safe or storage facilities.

We offer a high-quality, chef-inspired meal service, with a carefully crafted menu to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. 

During your stay, our housekeeping team will service your room daily. Housekeeping times may vary throughout the day to ensure your comfort and to maintain optimal infection control standards.

Free onsite parking for visitors

The main hospital car park is easiest to access from Heading Avenue (south of the hospital) or Lennox Street (adjacent the Aged Care complex).

Disabled car parking is available close to the main entrance.

Please park in areas designated for visitors and not spaces designated for doctors or ambulances. Visitors park at their own risk and the hospital cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to your vehicle while parked on NECH property.

Please note that local street parking may be restricted by the local Council and fines are levied for street parking infringements.

A free telephone service to Adelaide Independent Taxi Company is available for use in the main entrance foyer.

NECH is a Smoke-Free and Vape-Free Zone. For the health and wellbeing of all patients, visitors, and staff, and to support environmental and fire safety standards, smoking and vaping are prohibited within all hospital buildings and grounds.

Visiting hours are between 11:00am and 8:00pm daily.
